The Kukkiwon president election will be held on October 6th. The election of the Kukkiwon president is entrusted and managed by the National Election Commission (Chairman Roh Tae-ak).
Candidate registration takes place on September 25th and 26th, and the electoral college consists of about 1,300 people, both domestically and overseas, according to the Kukkiwon President's election management regulations.
Election campaigns are possible for nine days, from September 27, the day after candidate registration, to October 5, the day before the election. The National Election Commission plans to operate a resident task force within the Kukkiwon to intensively crack down on the provision of money and entertainment, and employees' involvement in elections. The National Election Commission announced that it will intensively crack down on election interference by Taekwondo officials, who are subject to neutrality obligations.
Persons subject to the duty of neutrality include Kukkiwon's executives and employees, as well as those who have been appointed, elected, or commissioned through Kukkiwon, such as the World Taekwondo Training Institute, Taekwondo Research Institute, Taekwondo Demonstration Team, and various committees under Kukkiwon, and are maintaining their positions.
The National Election Commission will hold a 'Kukkiwon President Election Candidate Information Session' at 3 pm on September 15th at the Kukkiwon Central Training Center.
